"Gorp"

I made this over the weekend for the (Kim) Hansen Family Halloween party, and there were requests for the recipe, so here it is! I wish I had taken a picture of it to post that too.

10 cups Golden Grahams
10 cups Rice Checks
1 bag slivered almonds
1 bag shredded coconut

Syrup:
1-1/2 cups light Karo Syrup
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup + 2 tablespoons butter

Combine syrup ingredients, and cook over medium heat. Bring to a boil, and let boil for 2 minutes. Pour over mixture.

You can add things to the mixture for variety. For example, I added Reese's Pieces, for the orange and brown colors. You can add M&M's, pretzel pieces, or really anything you want.

Enjoy! Erin

This is sounds delicious! Does the name "Gorp" come from somewhere or mean something?

I have no idea where the name came from. It's what Pat called it, so that's what I named it. But certainly you can name it whatever you want! I'd never heard of it before.
